What is FedInvest?
FedInvest is the on-line system that allows most federal agencies to initiate transactions in Government Account Series securities in a browser-based environment without the need to fax in an investment request. Anyone may view this website, but on-line users have to be granted access to submit transaction requests or review reports.
Where can I find official guidance for the Federal Investment program?

How do I update my contact information?
Simply log on to FedInvest and click on the "Update Profile" button at the top of the page. Select the "My Profile" folder to update your information.
What are the deadlines for submitting investment/redemption requests?
Government agencies have the opportunity to submit their investment requests on-line using our FedInvest website. Deadlines are as follows:
- 11:00 a.m. ET for zero coupon bonds
- 3:00 p.m. ET for all other transactions
Special issue redemptions will be processed after 3pm.

What is the minimum amount I can invest?
Following are the general minimum investment amount guidelines:
- $1,000 for market based bills, notes, bonds
- $1,000 for par value securities
- $50,000,000 for initial market based zero coupon bond investments with subsequent minimums of $1,000,000
How do I find a list of available market based securities to choose from?
All available market based securities are listed on our FedInvest website. Daily listings can be found in trade publications or periodicals, which carry daily market quotes.
How can I see Today's Overnight rate?
Today's Overnight rate is available on the FedInvest home page by clicking on the "Overnight Rates" link near the top of the page.
What do I do if I can't log on to FedInvest?
If you've forgotten your password or have trouble logging in to the system, e-mail us or call us.
What is a buy?
It's an investment.
What is a sell?
It's a redemption.
What is a matu?
It's a maturity.
What is an Int?
It's an interest payment to you.
What is an Int-?
It's an interest adjustment returning interest to Treasury.
How can I see today's prices?
To view current prices for federal investments, go to www.fedinvest.gov and click on the "Today's Prices" tab at the top of the screen. Prices are usually not available until after 1 pm ET for each investment day.
Are historical prices available?
Yes, historical prices are available on FedInvest. Simply click on the "Prior Day Prices" on the homepage of FedInvest. Each day of the prior month's prices are available as well as the last day of every month.
How do I convert the price for a bill to a discount rate?
D = ((100-p)/100) * (360/r)
Where: p = price
D = discount rate
r = number of days remaining to maturity
How do I know that my transactions were processed?
Log on to the FedInvest application and select "View Transactions" at the bottom of the screen. Select your account fund symbol and the date range you would like to see, and hit continue. Also, you may select an option on your user profile to automatically e-mail your notification to you.
How do I receive e-mail notifications to confirm my transactions?
To receive e-mail notifications from the FedInvest system, you will need to update your profile. There are several different notifications that are available, so each user will need to select the e-mail options that pertain to them. These options are at the bottom of the "Update Profile" section of FedInvest.
